Plot: The Last Rodeo is a story about Roy McGraw, a legendary rodeo rider today. Roy was a legend when he was younger. He was a bull riding legend with a heart of gold. But now Roy is old. He aches, his fame is diminishing, and he feels like everyone is forgetting him. One day, Roy receives an invitation to ride in a special rodeo competition in Texas. It’s called “The Last Ride,” and it provides retired rodeo legends one last opportunity to shine. Roy views this as more than a rodeo — it’s an opportunity to prove he’s got life in him. It’s an opportunity to make amends with his daughter, Emma. She hasn’t spoken to her dad in many years. She was devastated when Roy gave up fame for family. But when Roy invites her to accompany him on the trip, she tags along. Along the trip, they bicker, reminisce, and slowly begin to reconnect. On the trip, Roy also assists a young rider who is too afraid to ride. This reminds Roy when he was young and what matters most. In the final rodeo, Roy prepares for his last ride. It’s a tough bull, and everyone’s watching him. Win or lose, Roy’s not just attempting to ride — it’s to make a better legend and win back Emma.
