Plot:
The Monkey 2025: This dark comedy horror film, inspired by Stephen King’s short story. It begins with teenage twins Hal and Bill Shelburn. They stumble upon a toy monkey that once belonged to their estranged father, Petey. The toy is heavily cursed, triggering a series of gruesome fatalities after it is wound up. It also includes the tragic death of their single mother, Lois. Fast forward twenty-five years, Hal has cut all connections with Bill. He is on the verge of distancing himself from his son, Petey Jr., whom he rarely sees due to his fear that the cursed toy might recur and harm him. However, following the violent passing of Hal’s aunt Ida, they embark on what could be their final road trip to her home. Raising concerns that the toy may have been rediscovered and activated.
