Maybe we’re wrong, but our impression on the genesis of Hansel and Gretel witch hunters is this: Tommy Wirkola, author of the young director zombie comedy Dead Snow – .nazi, Will Ferrell knows that – as a producer – the door in the upper echelons the Hollywood studios. When asked what they would like to do, Wirkola – who has not prepared an answer – he says the first thing that comes to mind, thinking of an idea many years ago: a smartass – badass version of the Grimm fairy tale Hansel and Gretel.
