In 2012, the Brazilian director, Afonso Poyart, caught the attention of critics with her film 2 Coelhos ( Two rabbits ), an action thriller set in São Paulo. After several years of waiting Fifteen to take the project out and two to finally release it to the silver screen after filmación-, Poyart uses the talents of Anthony Hopkins to present in the mind of the criminal ( Solace in English, means “help or give comfort”), a thriller that resonates in one of the iconic films of veteran actor, the Silence of the Lambs (Jonathan Demme, 1991), which takes up the disturbing and enigmatic calm of Dr. Hannibal Lecter while revealing crucial points of the investigation. Overusing neon lights and cryptic images to present premonitions of Clancy, the film raises the moral dilemma of euthanasia from the perspective of the murderer, reinforcing it with one of the final sequences centered on the character of Hopkins, that while manages to attract some adherents, does not justify the motivation behind at least one of the attractive – a murdered woman deaths in the tub and leave the question to what extent is mercy and where it begins to be a clear violation of free will.
