“Watch CBGB movie”, the film inspired by the bar that gave life to punk U.S., located in Manhattan, New York, launched its first trailer.

The film, which opens in October in U.S.. Show the history of the legendary bar which handled stars like Iggy Pop, Blondie, Patti Smith and Joey Ramone. Obviously, these roles are played by actors, but not his music: Unlike other biopics like Hendrix, CBGB will feature original music from all the artists featured on it. CBGB was a famous place, known for offering shows of punk and new wave bands from the seventies until 2006. The place was home to bands like Ramones, Bowie, Misfits, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Talking Heads, The Dead Boys, The Cramps, The B-52’s among others.


Randall Miller, in charge of the direction of “CBGB”, based his film on the site owner, Hilly Kristal, and the origins of the club.


It is a comedy that will feature performances from Alan Rickman as Hilly, Malin Akerman as Debbie Harry of Blondie, Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters drummer) as Iggy Pop and Mickey Sumner as Patti Smith.


They also act Donal Logue, Ashley Greene, Freddy Rodriguez, Johnny Galecki (“Leonard” in “The Big Bang Theory”), among others. The film opens in the U.S. on October 11.
