Watch hansel and Gretel movie, this is a best horror and action movie. Maybe we’re wrong, but our impression on the genesis of Hansel and Gretel witch hunters is this: Tommy Wirkola, author of the young director zombie comedy Dead Snow – .nazi, Will Ferrell knows that – as a producer – the door in the upper echelons the Hollywood studios. When asked what they would like to do, Wirkola – who has not prepared an answer – he says the first thing that comes to mind, thinking of an idea many years ago: a smartass – badass version of the Grimm fairy tale Hansel and Gretel. The eyes light up executive: bingo!
When a trend in Hollywood works is of use to exploit it until it runs out, and that is how, after the giant hunter, two films about Snow White and the coming of The Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, as well as TV series such as Once Upon a Time, it is now up to Hansel and Gretel rejuvenate the classic fairy tales .
It must be said that, unlike other films in the series, most pretentious, that of Tommy Wirkola stands out for his not wanting to be what it is not: it is already apparent in the choice of actors, good but not great attraction at the box office. In the role of the most powerful witch , the beautiful head – coven Muriel , there is the equivalent of Charlize Theron, Julia Roberts or Angelina Jolie, but Famke Janssen, has always been linked to genre cinema and with a vague aura of B – movie . Just as the protagonists are two solid ” laborers ” screen, it is understood not in a derogatory sense, but of actors who are not afraid to get their hands dirty with the most popular materials: Jeremy Renner (do not forget that it has 2 Oscar nominations assets, but it is also the Hawkeye Marvel) and the beautiful and tough British actress Gemma Arterton. In supporting roles Wirkola chooses a young emerging successful as Thomas Mann Project X and a character actor sentenced to horrible deaths as the Swede Peter Stormare.
What makes us sympathy in this film enjoyable but not memorable, is that despite the budget of 50 million dollars, retains all the features of the B -movie medium-low budget. And do not disappoint: Hansel and Gretel , doubly traumatized by the abandonment of parents and an almost fatal , as are two big superstars of the witch hunt , two big kids ready to take a hand but basically innocent and never really grown , and that, like all of us , they want to make peace with their own childhood . In their own way , then with swords , muskets , crossbows, and retractable blades , machine guns and other weapons amazing to pulp , stab and behead the witches (for a fee and not for community spirit ).
Everything else ( the discovery of the truth about the parents , the loving interlude and the spectacular demise of the various villains ) has already said and have seen, and even though the monstrous look of the witches is very nice , we were expecting more (not that easy it is to invent something new in this field) . Despite this, the film runs away fast in less than 90 minutes in duration , with a 3D for once well used and justified, two fine actors with a decent alchemy , a good number of scenes and gore headlines beautiful , giving the ‘ impression that a sequel could be better. And – since it is already in the works – it only remains to wait
