The origin of “Prometheus” , there is a picture: that of a skeleton glimpsed in ” Alien , the eighth passenger ” by crew members of the Nostromo as they pass by the planet LV- 426. This giant ossified , slumped in the seat of his huge observation post , abdomen pierced by a xenomorph , seemed to be the aesthetic extension of a vessel with very organic curves . Ridley Scott had regretted that the “Space Jokey ” – and it was called – and the cyclopean spaceship that surrounded him were forgotten once the creature circulation.
“Prometheus” fix this oversight in propelling us some forty years before the first “Alien” when the Weyland Corporation, well known to fans of the saga, sent to the future planet Acheron a reconnaissance mission funded to the tune of a trillion dollars .
