PLOT: “Queen of Katwe” tells the story of a young woman Phiona, who was born in one of the poorest places in Uganda. She found chess salvation for herself and her family. 10 year old girl Phiona Mutesi (Madina Nalwanga) and his family, life in the slum of Katwe in Kampala is a constant struggle. His mother, is determined to protect his family and works tirelessly selling vegetables in the market to ensure that their children have food and a home.
Finally, Phiona meets Robert Katende, a football player. he became a missionary and teaching chess to local children, for feel captivated. Chess requires a lot of concentration, strategic thinking and risk – taking, skills that can be applied to everyday life, and Katende hopes to strengthen youth through play.
