The story of the film is here: Johnson ( Saving Private Ryan) and Max Martin (Pacific rim) , perfectly fulfill their role. Where I see an error instead of casting , and I think that this story does not start until after the middle of the film, is the choice of the actors playing the Somali pirates . Actors all amateurs and unfortunately is reflected on the screen , Hanks are very unbalanced and with hardly succeed in creating a certain fear in the environment.
In Paul Greengrass film raw clearly sought a certain coldness and sometimes emotionally difficult to enter. Apart from this seal is undisputed the result that in all his works, including this one, gets his editor Christopher Rouse (The Italian Job (2003), Paycheck). Rouse has an Oscar for his great work on “The Bourne Ultimatum” and now returns to show epitomized it is found in the past 45 minutes (the rescue) where it is able to bring coherence, rhythm and balance to all the characters that come into play accentuated all with the song that made Henry Jackman and an elaborate sound editing.
A film that I think will struggle to find the tone so that all elements work but at that point the result is truly rewarding.
